of the Regional Crime Unit were able to identify a residence which was broken into, yet not reported as the homeowners were on vacation. When contacted by phone the homeowners were shocked but very grateful for police actions. A large amount of their stolen property was recovered before they even knew it was missing.
Over 100 items were seized from both residences including: Computers, cell phones, jewellery, WWII memorabilia, stacks of stolen identity and financial cards, a police scanner, tablets, marihuana, methamphetamine, knives, swords, firearms, and body armour.
70 criminal charges will be forwarded against the three accused.
On March 20, 2014, the Regional Crime Unit executed a search warrant in the 3600 block of Vitality Rd in West Shore. The execution of the search warrant was the culmination of an investigation into the fraudulent use of stolen financial cards. Several suspects had been identified on video surveillance using financial cards taken from vehicle break ins. Two suspects, Geoffrey Pearson AGNEW and Erin Marie MCCANN were Reebok Boots Black

taken into custody at the residence. AGNEW and MCCANN are currently facing 14 criminal charges relating to: Fraud, Possession of Stolen Property, Breach of Court Orders, and Firearms offences.
The seized items have so far been linked to 17 police files from 6 jurisdictions on the Vancouver Island including: Saanich, Westshore, Sooke, Central Saanich, Victoria, Duncan, and Comox Valley. Additionally, one of the items was found to be stolen from a vehicle in Alberta! The offences include: Theft from Auto, Thefts, and Residential Break and Enter.
As a result of investigation after the execution of the first search warrant a third suspect was identified. On March 26th a second search warrant was executed in the 3300 block of Mary Anne Crescent with the assistance of the West Shore RCMP. The lone resident, Ryan Andrew FLETCHER, was taken into custody and currently faces Reebok Originals White 6 criminal charges relating to: Fraud, Possession of Stolen Property, and Theft.
The Regional Crime Unit is an integrated unit comprised of police officers from the Saanich Police Department, Oak Bay Police Department, West Shore Detachment RCMP, Sooke RCMP, as well as Provincial RCMP. Since 2008 the Regional Crime Unit has been pursuing its mandate of proactively targeting the region most prolific criminal offenders.
